Left & Center Field of Dreams sold
By Erik Hogstrom

DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Left and center field will rejoin the infield at one of Dubuque County's best-known landmarks.

The Field of Dreams movie site - long split by a division among neighbors - has come under the single ownership of Don and Becky Lansing.

Rita Ameskamp, who owned the left and center portions of the site, on Saturday confirmed the sale of her property to the Lansings, owners of the infield and house. The two families had long been at odds over the extent of commercialization at the movie site.

Released in 1989, "Field of Dreams" starred Kevin Costner as Ray Kinsella, an Iowa farmer urged by voices to create a baseball diamond out of a cornfield.

The site attracts thousands of people each year.
