Student found dead at Loras
By TH staff

Dubuque police are investigating the death of a student in a Loras College residence hall.

Audrey Fitzgerald was found in Binz Hall at approximately 7 p.m. Sunday after emergency crews were called to the college. Fitzgerald was a sophomore from Independence, Iowa, according to one Loras student.

"Appropriate authorities are investigating the circumstances and details surrounding Audrey's death," Loras President Jim Collins wrote an e-mail sent Sunday night to faculty, staff and students. "Until I have more information and until we are able to adequately communicate with the student's family, I am unable to provide any details."

Dubuque police also would not release details.

Collins said in his e-mail that additional staff would be available throughout the week for anyone seeking special grief counseling.
