Jessica Hruska showed just how much guts she has this weekend at the Madison Marathon.
The 29-year-old former Dubuque Hempstead and Wartburg College runner won the women's division in 3:07.49 on Sunday despite battling stomach virus on Thursday. She beat runner-up Holly Fearing by nearly a minute.

"I was puking and diarrhea and the whole thing, and it was just like, 'You know what God? If I'm supposed to do this, then you'll help me.'
"It's only God that can do that," she said of the win.
Hruska regained some of her strength and fluids on Friday but didn't feel full strength for most of the race.
Justin Andrews, a former Cuba City and UW-Stevens Point runner, won the 13.1-mile half-marathon in 1:12:29 seconds. It was his second straight title in the event.
He beat runner-up Nathan Rutz by 38 seconds.
