Fennimore man gets 8 years for pointing handgun at girl

LANCASTER, Wis. — A 26-year-old Fennimore man received a stiffer sentence than prosecutors sought for pointing a handgun at his former girlfriend in April.

Nathan Teasdale received an eight-year prison sentence — including 2 1⁄2 half years of confinement and 5 1⁄2 years of extended supervision — Thursday in Grant County Circuit Court.

Grant County prosecutor Lisa Riniker had sought a seven-year sentence, including 1 1⁄2 years behind bars.
Teasdale has 20 prior convictions, most of them minor, dating to 2001.

Grant County Circuit Judge George Curry termed Teasdale “a huge danger to society” when handing down the sentence.
