FENNIMORE, Wis. — A Grant County man remained in critical condition at a Madison hospital Friday after being struck by an SUV driven by his girlfriend who was drunk at the time, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Department.

Robert F. Collins, 34, of Fennimore, suffered head and other injuries in the incident early Tuesday in Fennimore. He was transported to University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison, where a hospital official confirmed his condition Thursday.

Authorities say Collins was walking on the curb line on Madison Street just north of 10th Street when Meaghan Govier, 40, also of Fennimore, hit Collins with the SUV.
