PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. -- Vern McKee, 57, has been charged in Crawford County Circuit Court with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.
A criminal complaint filed last week said a Crawford County Sheriff's Department deputy saw McKee working on his motorcycle along Old Wisconsin 35 in Freeman Township. McKee, of Lansing, Iowa, said his headlight went out. A check showed that McKee was wanted in Vernon County so the deputy arrested him. When the officer searched McKee, he found a silver metal box containing glass pipes and two key boxes containing methamphetamine. The officer also found a memo pad containing names and numbers, the complaint said.
If convicted of the meth charge, McKee could be fined $50,000 and imprisoned for 15 years.
