The 57th annual Marriage Reunion will be at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, near Nashua, Iowa the weekend of Saturday-Sunday, Aug. 1-2.
The church, made famous by the hymn "The Church in the Wildwood," has been the site of countless weddings. William S. Pitts wrote the hymn in 1857; the church was built in 1860-64, during the Civil War.
The reunions will include a checkers tournament, dinner, a pastors' reception, a talent competition which must include the hymn, a worship service and a renewal of wedding vows.
