APPLE RIVER, Ill. — A suburban Chicago man died Saturday after his car rolled over near Apple River and landed top-down in a creek, trapping him inside.
David S. O’Brien, 53, of Glen Ellyn, Ill., was pronounced dead on the scene after repeated attempts to revive him, according to a release by the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Department.
Around 3:15 p.m. Saturday, O’Brien was driving southeast on E. Apple Canyon Road, near Apple Canyon Lake. The vehicle left the roadway, struck a guard rail and rolled over, coming to rest upside-down in a creek, authorities said. The crash remains under investigation.
