Former Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., will speak about conservative free-market principles this fall at the University of Dubuque.
Santorum, who lost his Senate seat in the 2006 election, is a senior fellow at Ethics and Public Policy Center, a socially conservative think tank.
Santorum told Politico last week that it was too early to consider a presidential run, but he would like to raise his profile in the GOP.
Tim Albrecht, communications director for the American Future Fund, said the lecture is the third in a series organized by AFF. "It's important because when politicians come to Iowa, they have a heightened megaphone," he said.
The speech will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at UD's Charles and Ramona Meyers Center, 445 Algona St., room MTAC-146. The event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP by calling American Future Fund at 515-720-5250 or via e-mail at rsvp@americanfuturefund.com.
