A few months ago, we received an e-mail touting a contest of sorts called "The 100 Greatest Places to Stand on the Planet."
Soon, it was expanded to places in the United States, places in Europe and even places in the United Kingdom.
People can go to the Web site www.stoodthere.com/ and cast their votes from among the places listed -- all featured with photos from the vantage points of those places. You also can post your photos of special places. Deadline for voting or posting photos in any or all of the categories is Dec. 1.
That got us to thinking, what about closer to home? So, we created our list of "The 50 Greatest Places to Stand in the Tri-States."
Our list is based on places staff members and friends have stood. But, it's only 50. And, we're guessing that you might disagree with some of our picks.
Let's see if you can help us add 50 to our list.
