After being delayed twice, the reconstruction for Water Street is set for 2012.
The urban portion of the project will run from Pine Street north to just past Malone Drive. The rural portion includes Wisconsin 80 (Water Street) from just past Malone Drive to Livingston. That portion also will be completed in 2012. The official detour for the rural portion will be Wisconsin 81 and then U.S. 61 to Fennimore and to Montfort on U.S. 18.
The total length of the urban project is 1.6 miles, and significant improvements include wider street width between Pine and Furnace streets and an improved intersection at Main Street to include alignment and traffic signals.
There will be a roundabout intersection at Madison Street.
