Tickets for the Bellamy Brothers on sale Monday

Tickets will go on sale Monday, Sept. 21, for the Bellamy Brothers show, Saturday, Nov. 21 show at Mystique. They will perform at 7 and 9 p.m.

Tickets are $15 in advance, at the Allure Center, and $20 the day of the show.

The country/pop performers David and Howard Bellamy have had more than 13 No. 1 singles, 52 chart singles and more than 30 Top 10 Hits. They have been nominated for Duo of the Year by the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music more than any other pair in history.

Ride your bike or car pool to this green event

Theater audiences are encouraged to arrive in an eco-friendly way, such as bicycle, car pool or mass transit, when Kerasotes Star Cinema 14 hosts "The Age of Stupid LIVE from New York" Monday, Sept. 21.

It's a one-night only live green-carpet event, simulcast live at 6:30 p.m. from a solar tent in New York City. The green carpet will be made of recycled materials.

The simulcast will include a panel discussion by director Franny Armstrong and producer Lizzie Gillet, as well as scientists, celebrities and political figures from Kofi Annan, Gillian Anderson and Pete Postlethwaite. Radiohead's Thom Yorke perform the film's title track.

Agriculture the theme of ArtsBuild art show

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville will host an art show coordinated by ArtsBuild, an artists' support network affiliated with the Office of Continuing Education, Monday, Sept. 21-Saturday, Oct. 31 in the Harry and Laura Nohr Gallery of Ullsvik Hall.

About 60 pieces of art, from portraits and landscape paintings to ceramics and barbed-wire sculpture, will be shown. The theme is agriculture.

The gallery is open 8 a.m.-5 pm. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday; 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesdays; 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. The gallery will be open noon-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27 during a concurrent Local Fare Fall Harvest Marketplace.

Ballet classes available

The Academy of Ballet is accepting registration for classes in modern dance and ballet for adults high school age and older, including beginners and returning students.

Kate Hirstein and Megan MacLeod will teach the classes: Modern Dance, 7-8 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 23-Nov. 11, and Adult Ballet, 7-8 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 24-Nov. 12.
