Sheriff's department says accused never came through on purchase, or paid back a $129,000 loan.

LANCASTER, Wis. — One man has been arrested and charged with theft and false representation in a cattle purchasing scheme, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Department.

Scott T. Toberman contacted Stacy M. Barr, of Bagley, telling Barr he wanted to buy 192 head of reprocessed cattle and needed to borrow $129,000, the department said. Toberman told Barr that Barr would get the money back in seven to 10 days and would make a $5,000 profit. Once Toberman received the money, he used it to pay on another loan and did not purchase the cattle, nor did he pay back Barr.
