WAUZEKA, Wis. -- A 22-year-old Crawford County man was injured when his arm was pinned in a corn picker Sunday afternoon.

Curt Mezera, of Wauzeka, was flown to Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse and later transported to a health care facility in Rochester, Minn.

Mezera was operating a corn picker around 4 p.m. at the Dan Mezera farm on Chestnut Lane when the picker malfunctioned. Mezera's arm was pinned in the machine, but he was able to call on his cell phone for help. After emergency services personnel arrived, Mezera was released from the picker in about 90 minutes.
