Bank donates $1,000 for playground

Apple River State Bank has donated $1,000 to the Blackhawk Park District for the replacement of playground equipment.

The donation was intended to spur the kickoff for a public fund drive, which will replace 30-year-old equipment at the park.

Blackhawk Park District has facilities for swimming, tennis, picnics and other activities.
