Dubuque to host national Dock Dogs championship

Dubuque was named the host city for the 2010 Dock Dogs National Championships.  The event will be held on Oct. 15-17, 2010, and will draw 450 to 500 Dock Dog competitors, thousands of spectators and an economic impact to the Dubuque area of $1.5 million.

Dock Dogs is no stranger to Dubuque.  Dock Dogs has hosted regional events in Dubuque in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 as part of the America’s River Festival. In 2007 Dubuque and the America’s River Festival received the People’s Choice Awards for Dock Dogs National Event of the Year.
