Bellevue gallery will host oil painting class

BELLEVUE, Iowa -- Off the Wall Gallery, 124 N. Riverview St., will host a five-session oil painting class by Bellevue artist Dave Eischeid, 6-8 p.m. Thursdays, Nov. 5-Dec. 10 (excluding Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26).

The fee is $100 or $20 per session. Some materials will be offered, but a supply list will be provided at the first session, which is required.

The class, designed to teach basic and advanced students, is open to adults and teens.

Librarian will present Stone City lecture Oct. 25

Kristy Raine, reference librarian and archivist at Mount Mercy College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, will present a guest lecture on Grant Wood's Stone City art colony, at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, at the Dubuque Museum of Art.

"When Tillage Begins: The Stone City Art Colony and School" is a multimedia presentation capturing the history of the venture which was launched in 1932 and '33, near Anamosa.
