A Dubuque woman won a prize of $10,000 in the Oct. 10 Powerball drawing.
Stephanie Stanton claimed her prize at the Iowa Lottery's headquarters in Des Moines. She bought her winning Powerball ticket at Kwik Stop/Key West Conoco, 2150 Twin Valley Drive.
The winning numbers on Oct. 10 were 13-32-45-49-50 and Powerball 30. The Power Play multiplier was 3. Stanton matched four of the first five numbers drawn and the Powerball to win a $10,000 prize. Had she added the Power Play to her ticket, Stanton would have multiplied her $10,000 win by three and won a total of $30,000.
Area sisters honored
Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has named three northeast Iowa sisters as its 2009-10 Family of the Year.
The Schueller family includes Jessi Schueller Schipper, from Farley, who graduated in 2003 with a nursing degree; Jill Schueller Hoeger, from Delhi, who graduated in 2005 with a nursing degree; and Jenna Schueller, a sophomore elementary education major from Sherrill.
The sisters are the first generation in their family to attend college, according to a release from Mount Mercy. The award recognizes families who make a significant impact on Mount Mercy's campus community.
As students, Jessi and Jill participated in clubs and organizations and served as orientation leaders and student ambassadors. Each served as class president and received Mount Mercy's Student of the Year award.
Jenna currently serves as president of the Students in Iowa State Education Association and as an education project manager for Mount Mercy's Students in Free Enterprise club. She also is active as an orientation leader and student ambassador.
