Farley
Resident lauded

A Farley man has been awarded the Civilian Award for Humanitarian Service from the Department of the Army.

Stephen Benda, equipment operator senior at the Iowa Department of Transportation Garage in Dyersville, earned the award for the period between May 25, 2008, and Jan. 1, 2009.

Benda was the State Public Assistance coordinator during the period, which saw severe storms and flooding hit many cities and counties throughout the state. Benda received a certificate from Iowa Department of Public Defense Adj. Gen. Timothy Orr for his service.
