Progressive Organ Recital to visit 3 Dubuque sites

The Dubuque chapter of the American Guild of Organists will host a Progressive Organ Recital, Sunday, Nov. 1.

* 2 p.m., First Congregational United Church of Christ, 255 West 10th St.; performers include Chuck Barland.

* 2:20 p.m., St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 12th and Main streets; performers include Nancy Woodin.

* 2:40 p.m., St. John's Episcopal Church, 1400 Main St. A reception will follow the performance.

The concerts are free, but donations will be accepted to defray costs.

Rountree Gallery to host showing from 23 artists

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- The work of 23 local artists will be on displayed at the Rountree Gallery, 385 E. Main St., through Saturday, Nov. 21.

The exhibit, which is open 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturdays and noon-4:30 p.m. Sundays, includes work ranging from photography and acrylic painting to wool felting and jewelry.

Platteville artist Cindy Schave will select some of the work to receive honorable mention and for display at the Annual State Art Exhibit in Madison in September 2010.
