WAUKON, Iowa — An elderly Waukon woman was killed Monday in a two-car collision south of Waukon.
Ruth D. Johnson, 85, was transported to Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, where she was pronounced dead from injuries received in the crash, according to the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Department.
Elaine M. Bodley, 39, of rural Waukon, also was transported to the hospital.
Bodley was driving a sport utility vehicle northbound on Iowa 9 when the vehicle crossed the center line, striking head-on a car driven by Johnson.
The crash remains under investigation.
