WATERLOO TOWNSHIP, Wis. — An Amish man and child refused medical treatment after a car slammed into their buggy, ejecting them.
Willis A. Mast, 30, and 5-year-old Ephraim W. Mast, refused medical transport on the scene.

They were riding in an Amish cart on Grant County U, near Waterloo Township, around 6 p.m. Thursday when a car struck their buggy’s left corner. Mast and the child were ejected and the buggy ripped apart, according to a release by the Grant County Sheriff’s Department.

The driver, Randall M. Peters, 49, of Hubertus, Wis., was not injured. He told authorities that he looked down for an instant and when he looked up, he saw the buggy, according to the release.
