GRUNDY CENTER -- An Iowa woman admitted to killing her own son and harming another and then asked to die, a state investigator testified Friday during the woman's first-degree murder trial.
Michelle Kehoe, 36, of Coralville, is accused of killing her 2-year-old son, Seth, and injuring his brother, Sean, 7, on Oct. 27, 2008.
Authorities said she drove the family van to a pond near Littleton, placed duct tape over her sons' faces and slit their throats before cutting her own neck.
Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Special Agent Chris Callaway testified he interviewed Kehoe in the hospital, where she was recovering. He said she was unable to speak but wrote answers to his questions. Those answers were displayed in a power point presentation to the court.
"I don't know, please kill me or lock me up forever," Kehoe told Callaway. "I want to die. I can't explain this to anyone, just kill me."
Kehoe, who also is charged with attempted murder and child endangerment, confessed after her son Sean told investigators what had happened.

In her response to Callaway, she wrote "It's sickening, isn't it?"
Kehoe initially told investigators she and her children were kidnapped by a man who crawled into the van.
She said she tried to fight the man off with pepper spray but he knocked her out. When she came to, her children were dead and then the man hurt her, she said.
