Several groups to perform at annual Messiah Concert

SINSINAWA, Wis. -- The 18th annual Messiah Concert will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, in the Queen of the Rosary Chapel at Sinsinawa Mound.

The Mound's Civic Chorus, Dubuque's Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Choir and the University of Dubuque Chorus will be joined by the Sinsinawa Strings Orchestra, conducted by Brian Burns of Clarke College. Soloists include LaDonna Manternach, soprano, from Clarke College; Kathleen Otterson, alto, from Edgewood College, Madison, Wis.; Dubuque's Matthew Beaves, tenor; and Bruce Kotowich, bass, from Loras College.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for senior citizens and students and will be available at the door or in advance by calling 608-748-4411. Shuttle service will be available. For concert information visit www.sinsinawa.org.

'No Crumbs Allowed' theme of women's group evening

The Dubuque After 5 Women's Connection will sponsor an evening on the theme, "No Crumbs Allowed," from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 at the Holiday Inn Dubuque/Galena.

Angela Wilson of Pella, Iowa will speak on "the Road Less Taken," sharing her life's journey of forgiveness, hope and adventure. She will talk about her "unwed" pregnancy, an adulterous husband who left her widowed at a young age and the joys and trials of combining families after remarrying.
