Bus tour to showcase energy opportunities

The Wisconsin Farmers Union and the Homegrown Renewable Energy Campaign are hosting a bus tour in southwest Wisconsin to highlight the benefits of homegrown renewable-energy policies and showcase the opportunities for clean- energy jobs in Wisconsin.

The tour is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 13, and will make stops at the Montfort Wind Farm, Meister Cheese in Muscoda, Cardinal Glass in Mazomanie, and a home near Ridgeway that uses solar panels.

The tour will leave the Montfort Wind Farm at 9 a.m. and return by 5 p.m. The cost, which includes lunch, is $10 -- payable by check or cash the day of the event. RSVPs are required by Monday, Nov. 9. For more information, call 608-256-6661 or 800-272-5531, or visit www.wisconsinfarmers
