ED teen hurt in collision in Dubuque

An East Dubuque, Ill., teenager was injured after she failed to stop at a stop sign on Oct. 29 and the vehicle she was driving struck another vehicle, Dubuque police said.

Kimberly Steines, 19, was treated and released from Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Steines was southbound on Pasadena Drive around 7 p.m. when she ran a stop sign at the intersection of Pasadena and Hillcrest Road, according to Dubuque police. She struck a vehicle that was eastbound on Hillcrest driven by Daniel Pergande, 57, of 1906 White St.

Steines gave her information to Pergande, but Pergande left the scene of the accident before he gave his information to Steines, according to police. Pergande called Steines the next day with his information.

Steines was charged with a stop sign violation. Pergande was charged with no proof of insurance and no valid driver's license.
