Holiday Train to chug through Dec. 10

MARQUETTE, IOWA

The national-touring Holiday Train has just two scheduled stops in Iowa this year: Marquette and Mason City. The Marquette stop will be at Riverfront Marina at 9:45 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10.

The Canadian Pacific train is adorned in tens of thousands of lights and serves as a stage for live musical performances.

More than 40 American cities, towns and villages will experience the Holiday Train spirit, starting in Rouses Point, N.Y. on Nov. 26 and concluding in Port Moody, B.C. on Dec. 18

The Marquette stop will help the community and surrounding area collect food and money for the Clayton County Food Shelf, raise awareness in the fight against hunger and help communities across CP's network celebrate the holiday season. This is a free event. In return, non-perishable food items or a cash donation in support of the local food charity are requested.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy numerous festivities prior to the arrival of the train. Warm beverages and snacks will be sold to keep the crowd warm. All proceeds will benefit the Clayton County Food Shelf.
