"A Christmas Carol"

Nouveau Wine Festival
Today and Saturday, downtown, Galena, Ill.
A celebration of the release of Galena Cellars Vineyard and Winery Nouveau Wine. Beginning at 11:30 a.m. today with a traditional French stew at local restaurants. At 2:30 p.m., a horse-drawn wagon parade will deliver the wine on Main Street, followed by afternoon wine and cheese parties at various downtown locations. Festival of Trees Inaugural Tree Lighting

Opening event begins at 5:30 p.m. An essay contest was held among middle school children describing, "What does Christmas mean to me" and a boy and a girl selected from the entries will be invited to "flip the switch" and illuminate the hall of trees, wreaths and gingerbread houses on display. Tony Kenny's Christmas Time in Ireland
