What it's about
* Money (whose real name is Alison Chelsey) is a Chicago-based cellist. She performs on an amplified cello, which produces guitar-like effects.
* Los Angeles City Beat said, "(Helen Money) conjures up truly majestic music from her bow. It's the sound of wounded forests, of trees hraboring centuries of resentment. Lovers of modern minimalists, of folk music and of doom metal should all find something to thrill here."
* Money's recent CD release, "In Tune," was engineered by Greg Norman (Pelican, Russian Circles, Neurosis). Money has recorded with big-named indie rockers Russian Circles, Bob Mould, Mono, Disturbed, Anthrax, Broken Social Scene and others.
* Money also has composed music for film and dance, including the soundtrack to the award-winning documentary, "Indestructible," and two major works for Chicago-based dance companies.
