Christmas on the Quad set at University of Dubuque

The University of Dubuque will hold its annual Christmas on the Quad celebration at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9. An encore celebration will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11.

A UD tradition since 1997, Christmas on the Quad is a celebration where students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends come together to begin the season of Advent and prepare for the coming of Christmas.

An important part of the celebration on Wednesday will be the lighting of the UD Christmas Tree, known as Bruce Spruce, named for J. Bruce Meriwether, who was a former board member, interim president from 1996-98 and the initiator of Christmas on the Quad.

Both celebrations will conclude with refreshments and fellowship in Blades Hall.
