Palin issues battle cry
VP nominee says McCain will win the war and protect taxpayers from the far-left-wing of Democratic Party

Warning against "monopolized, unchecked power," Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin made a last-day appeal for votes in a noisy rally at Dubuque's Grand River Center.

Without Republican John McCain as president, Palin warned about 3,500 supporters that Democratic control of the House, Senate and White House will allow the "far-left-wing of Democrats" to take over the federal government.

Making her last appearance in the Midwest before flying back to her home state to vote today, the Alaskan governor cautioned against left-wing Democrats whom she said are poised to reduce the defense budget by a quarter.

"Let's not retreat from wars that are almost won," Palin urged the cheering crowd.

Registration: Voters may pre-register by contacting their municipal clerk and filling out a Voter Registration form. They may do this in person or by mail. If they register by mail, they must send a copy of their driver’s license along with the form. They may still register the same day of the election. They will be required to provide proof of residence. Poll workers will ask for their driver’s license first. If they do not have a driver’s license, the last four digits of their Social Security number must be provided along with proof of residency.
