The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium has announced that the annual Taste of Dubuque celebration will be moved to the first Thursday in August -- Aug. 1. The event had previously been on the first Saturday of August.

The event is scheduled from 3 to 11 p.m. on the grounds of the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium.

When Taste of Dubuque was launched, it was on a Wednesday.

"We feel the event had lost some of its charm moving to a Saturday," marketing director John Sutter said in a press release. "We hope that bringing it back to a weeknight will restore its charm as a great family event."
