The University of Wisconsin-Platteville's Elton S. Karrmann Library has a new director, Zora Sampson.
Sampson comes to the UW-P from UW-Barron County, where she was the director of the library and information and instructional technology.
Sampson earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts and her Master of Library Science from the University of Oklahoma. In addition to serving UW-Barron County, she has worked in the State Historical Society of Wisconsin, in Madison. Sampson is involved in librarianship on the local, state and national levels. She is an active supporter of the American Library Association's Black Caucus and ALA's affiliate, the American Indian Library Association. Sampson has served as a field reviewer for Native American Enhancement Grants for the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
At the Karrmann Library, Sampson will direct the day-to-day operations of the library.
