Burglary suspect shot, killed by Madison Police

MADISON, Wis. — Madison police say an officer has shot and killed a burglary suspect.

Police were called to a residence about 3 a.m. Friday on a report of a burglary in progress. When an officer arrived, there was a physical struggle with the suspected intruder.

Authorities say the officer fired his service weapon and killed the intruder. The man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the officer was not injured.
