BOSCOBEL, Wis. -- An effort is under way to recall a member of the Boscobel Board of Education.
On June 15, Roger Knoble turned in a petition with more than 300 signatures calling for the recall of Charles Clarke.
The wording on the petition listed the reason as "Lack of representation and failure to listen to the majority of his constituents regarding public concern, a general tone of disrespect toward his electors and failure to be accessible to the community."
Boscobel Area School District Administrator Steve Smith said that 271 signatures were required. The next step is for the school board clerk to determine if the signatures are sufficient or insufficient.
The school district covers portions of three counties -- Grant, Richland and Crawford.
If all of the steps are followed, it would be possible to have the recall election on Aug. 14, the same day as the Wisconsin primary.
