University of Wisconsin-Platteville students, including 14 members of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity, recently volunteered for service at the Platteville Community Arboretum.
The fraternity members cut brush and removed dead trees near walking paths.
The arboretum is along the Rountree Branch from the UW-P campus to Mound View Park. It is maintained and managed as a nonprofit organization through a cooperative effort of individuals, interest groups and academic institutions in the community.
Another student, Brian Johnson, a senior majoring in biology from Springfield, Ill., has volunteered by running a self-propelled brush cutter along the trail this fall.
