Potosi, Wis.

The Princess Potosa Gallery, 196 S. Main St., is featuring Indian-themed art by Gary Gandy.

A recent painting of his conception of Julien Dubuque and Princess Potosa is based on drawings done of Dubuque's exhumed remains in the 1880s. To capture Potosa's dress, he referenced images of Winnebago and Indian women, with quill and bead decorated clothing and braids wrapped in deer hide.

The gallery is open 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.
