The Grant County Emergency Management/Disaster Services Committee has decided to drop the idea of charging a fee for writing grant applications.

The 1 percent fee would have been charged to local units of government, fire departments or emergency service units, if Grant County Emergency Management wrote a grant application for them for state, federal or private funds. But Grant County Emergency Management Director Steve Braun said the committee has decided to drop the idea of charging a fee.

Instead, any grant applications that Grant County Emergency Management writes for units of government, fire departments or emergency services outside Grant County will be charged $75 per hour.
