The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Department of Performing and Visual Arts will host Double Reed Day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Center for the Arts. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. The fee is $25.

The event is designed to provide specialized instruction for double reed enthusiasts of all ages. Double reed instruments are woodwind instruments that have a pair of joined reeds that vibrate together when played, such as the bassoon and oboe.

The event, led by Laura Medisky and Jacqueline Wilson, double reed faculty at UW-P, will include a morning and afternoon rehearsal, exhibits, master classes and performing in front of an audience.
