For National Make a Difference Month, the Student Council organized a Paper Product Drive. Students and Community members were encouraged to donate paper product items such as toilet paper, facial tissues, paper towels, napkins, and other various items. Items were collected from October 16 to October 26. Thank you to Ma's Bakery, Clare Bank, Woodhouse and Bartley Bank, The Bloomington Library, and People State Bank for being collection points. The supplies were donated to the local Lancaster Food Pantry, which serves the River Ridge Community.
Students who donated items earned points toward a raffle ticket that would be placed in a drawing. The grand prize that was given away was a ten dollar gift certificate to the store of the winner's choice. Thank you to everyone who donated an item! You helped make our Paper Product Drive a huge success! On October 16 in recognition of National Popcorn Popping Month, Student Council members sold popcorn to the students and staff. Popcorn was fifty cents a bag, but an item was donated to the Paper Product Drive the contributor received a free bag of popcorn.
In celebration of Halloween, the Student Council organized its annual door decorating contest. Participating homerooms were to decorate their doors with a fall theme. The winning homeroom received a bag of candy.
