Alma S. Elliott, 93, of Dubuque, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at Stonehill Care Center.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where friends may call after 11 a.m. The Rev. Timothy Bees, of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery.

She was born on July 22, 1916, in Monroeville, Ala., daughter of Daniel and Ellafair (Merriweather) Sessions. She graduated from Jay High School in Jay, Fla.

She married Lewis Elliott on Aug. 18, 1941, in West Palm Beach, Fla.; he preceded her in death in 1987.

Those honoring Alma's memory are her daughters, Barbara Elliott and Audrea Elliott, both of Dubuque; a son, Lewis Elliott, of Arvada, Colo.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a son, William; her parents; four brothers; and a sister.
