SINSINAWA, Wis. -- Sister Patricia Jean Doerr, OP (Estella), 76, died at St. Dominic Villa on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, at Queen of the Rosary Chapel, Sinsinawa, followed by burial at the Motherhouse cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at the Motherhouse, where a wake and remembering service will take place at 6:30 p.m. Behr Funeral Home, Dubuque, is in charge of arrangements.

Sister Patricia Jean prepared as a teacher of Latin, French and social studies, taught for 15 years in high schools in Omaha, Neb.; La Crosse, Wis.; and Chicago and Rockford, Ill. Sister Patricia Jean then pursued certification in clinical pastoral education and was, for 17 years, a hospital chaplain at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, Ill. She spent these past years enriching community life at Divine Providence Convent, Des Plaines, Ill., and at St. Dominic Villa.

She was born on April 2, 1937, in Chicago, daughter of Marian Bonham and Charles Doerr.

She made her profession of vows on Aug.5, 1957.

Sister is survived by a brother, Charles Doerr; nephews; and the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters, with whom she shared life for 56 years.
