Timothy J. Kunkel, 45, of Dubuque, passed away Monday, April 15, 2013.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, with the Rev. Mark Ressler officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the church. Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Road, Dubuque, is in charge of arrangements.

Tim was born on Sept. 3, 1967, in Dubuque, son of Floyd and Darlene (Grawe) Kunkel. He grew up in Kieler, Wis., and graduated from Wahlert Catholic High School in 1986 and received his B.A. from Loras College.

He married Kim Junk on Jan. 30, 1993.

Tim founded Kunkel and Associates, Inc., in Mineral Point, Wis., in 2003, and moved his corporate headquarters to Dubuque four years later. He was a board member of Holy Family Development, the Dubuque Shooting Society 990 and the TIPPS club. He loved playing city rec softball and was a passionate Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers and Milwaukee Brewers fan.

Everyone who knew Tim felt his passion, generosity and excitement for life. His love for others was bottomless and unmatched, and his greatest joy was time spent with family. Tim was a testament to the fact that one life can touch so many others: He selflessly poured time and treasure into bettering the days and lives of friends, relatives and strangers. Tim's contagious smile and laughter could illuminate a room, and he was quick to offer advice, a joke or a helping hand to everyone he came into contact with. Tim chased his goals determinedly and saw many of his biggest dreams come to life.

Tim's family was his greatest treasure, and his love for family surpasses words or description. Despite an extraordinarily busy schedule, Tim never missed a ball game, dance recital or choir concert, and his heart swelled with happiness and pride for his four children. Tim was an extraordinary man who will be deeply missed and never forgotten. He will forever live in the hearts of many as an endlessly loving father, husband and friend.

Tim's final act of kindness was giving new life to many people through the Iowa Donor Network.

Surviving is his wife, Kim, of Dubuque; his children, Kayli, Caden, Adria and Carson; his parents, Floyd "Fuzz" and Darlene Kunkel, of Kieler; his brothers, Scott (Teresa) Kunkel, of Kieler, and Chad (Laura) Kunkel of Dubuque; his mother-in-law, Marcella "Babe" Junk, of Bellevue, Iowa; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve Junk, of Cascade, Iowa, Kathy Lombardi, Karen (Jerry) Theisen and Tim Junk, all of Bellevue, and Kay (Dave) Konrardy, of Davenport, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Dwain Junk; and his nephew, Jayden Lombardi.

A Tim Kunkel Memorial Fund has been established.
