BALLTOWN, Iowa -- Albert J. Klein, 93, of Balltown, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 15, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Balltown, with the Rev. Jose Luis Comparan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Road, where a parish scripture wake service will be recited at 6:30 p.m.

Albert was born on Feb. 22, 1920, in Balltown, son of Joseph and Ida (Link) Klein. On Nov. 16, 1943, He married Irene Brahm.

He was employed at Flexsteel Industries Inc. for 42 years.

Albert enjoyed gardening, playing euchre and watching sports.

Surviving is his wife, Irene; three sons, Rick (Jane) Klein, Dan Klein and Kevin Klein, all of Dubuque; and six grandchildren, Brian, Mark, Cory, Nikki, Alex and Anna.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ralph and Leon Klein; and a sister, Bernice Brimeyer.

An Albert J. Klein Memorial Fund has been established.
