Want to
get involved in the 2009 Dubuque Weatherization Challenge?
Dubuque Weatherization Challenge is an event where volunteer teams from around the
Dubuque area pitch-in to perform energy saving measures on the homes of
elderly, disabled and low-income neighbors. Volunteers can sign up to provide simple
weatherization measures such as caulking, weather-stripping, window plastic,
door sweeps and other insulating techniques.
This event, now in its third year, will seek to “keep the weather outside”,
reduce home energy consumption, save the home owners money on their winter
heating bills, and provide educational materials on how to lower their home
energy costs for over 100 homes in the Dubuque
area. It's a great way to help our community and an incredible way to Make a
Difference!
Volunteers make the project successful! The most important resource our
community has is its people. Volunteers who work, who invest and who care about
making a long-term change in the community make it a better place to live,
work, play and do business.
An easy way to volunteer is to log-on to www.thonline.com/weatherization,
fill out the team roster and you are on your way to Making a Difference in your
community.
If your schedule doesn't permit you time to volunteer, we are also in need of
in-kind donations such as weatherization supplies and materials. Gifts of any
size are helpful and greatly appreciated.
